Our Origin Story:

From Editorial Love to Human Connectivity

Welcome. Created by Jessica Mars, a Barbadian travel anthropologist with roots that span the Caribbean and diaspora, and a journalist deeply committed to authentic storytelling. As the founder behind White Linen, my own journey—much like the winding paths we explore—has been one of deep discovery and profound transformation, mirroring the very evolution of White Linen itself.

White Linen was founded in 2018 as a photography and videography collective, dedicated to telling editorial love stories. We challenged conventional templates, innovating to create imagery that truly spoke volumes and resonated with deeper narratives. We then expanded, curating full set designs with location scouting, florists, and makeup artists.

But as our lens evolved, so did our focus. We experimented, shifting from the individual to the profound concept of human connectivity. This evolution led us to introduce another format, our podcast, where conversations deepened, and we began to explore the world beyond our shores, capturing cultures and life in real-time across continents.

The Evolution: From Exploration to Community

As the community around us grew, the stories we encountered got deeper. We began to truly explore just how we are all interconnected, more alike than different, and that this shared human experience is bigger than any single one of us and our immediate shores or stories.

This profound realization has brought us to where we are today. White Linen is now passionately creating space for others. The world, with its vibrant cultures and untold narratives, is at our doorstep.
