Step Into Transformation:

Curated Cultural & Healing Journey

At White Linen, we believe that true travel is a journey not just across lands, but within oneself.
Led by Jessica Mars based on previous travels, she curates each experience with intention honouring the country’s strengths, age-old wisdom and
one-of-a-kind experiences.

These retreats are not solely about the destination but about a deeper understanding of being human.
A journey is designed to be a profound experience —
an invitation to reset, reconnect, and we only wish for this trip to be everything you need.
That you have revelations in your quiet moments and return transformed.
This trip is faith-based but does not exclude those who are not of the faith.
At the end of the day we are all seekers and part of the human race.
This Kenyan trip is a reminder of where we ALL started.
An appreciation for Creation
and our place in it.

*IMPORTANT: Make sure when booking flights that you arrive in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta Airport (JBO) on June 18th.
So make sure to check how long it will be from your country of origin. Keep in mind your departure date may be the day before with a layover.

Itinerary

  • Arrive in Nairobi and be greeted at the airport by your private driver holding a welcome sign. Enjoy a smooth transfer to your hotel where staff will welcome you and help you settle in after your journey.

  • Immerse yourself in your new surroundings.
On this day we get a taste of Kenya’s capital city with a trip to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre followed by an interactive group activity where we are reminded to take a step back and smell the roses.

  • See the sights at your own pace, alone or in small groups. This day we focus on appreciating the arts in Kenya - a day dedicated to expression and history at the Maasai Market and National Museum and Gallery of Kenya.

  • Today we head to the Mara to witness His wonder. On Father’s Day, we remember who to thank for it all as we see the vast plains of this iconic landscape. You can choose an optional outdoor adventure, a culinary experience, or a relaxing poolside retreat with a good book and wildlife views. No pressure—just moments to marvel.

  • Today we witness God’s provision—seen in the wildlife and in the Maasai, the Mara’s namesake. Living as semi-nomadic pastoralists, the Maasai have followed the same green pastures as the animals for generations. Their deep respect for nature, viewing wildlife as God’s beauty in creation, allows them to coexist with animals without exhausting the land. They rely not on crops but on livestock—considered a divine gift—for wealth and sustenance.

This morning we rise to watch the sun lift above treetops, zebras, elephants and giraffes, then descend to a Champagne Bush Breakfast before visiting a Maasai village.

  • We’ll have a group session and then the rest of the day is whatever you make of it. Choose between wellness treatments, a guided walk, more game drives or moments of solitude.

There is nothing you need and nowhere you need to be but exactly where you are.

  • Time to pack up and take one last good look at it all.

Saying goodbye to the Mara is never easy but everything is only for a time. Today we are thankful to have experienced it all and the revelations He has provided. Before heading to the airport, we have an exclusive tea masterclass planned as we wind down before departure.

Before we go, here are some things you MUST KNOW.

  • We’re looking forward to spending this time with you and the team in Kenya are working to put all the details together. Because of that, all deposits are non-refundable.

Life happens, we get it. In the instance you can’t make the trip but want to pass it on to someone else you believe could benefit from this experience, let us know IMMEDIATELY so we can do our best to accommodate them.

  • Travel insurance is not strictly mandatory for entry into Kenya or the Maasai Mara, but it is highly recommended.

While not required for the visa process, having coverage is essential for managing high costs associated with medical treatment, emergency medical evacuation, and potential trip cancellations.

Adventure/Safari Activities: Ensure your policy covers safari-related activities.

    • Comprehensive Coverage: It is advised to have coverage for trip interruptions, lost luggage, and potential accidents.

  • I’ve vetted our locations specifically for quality. Both JW Marriott Nairobi and andBeyond Kichwa Tembo operate at international 5-star standards. All water provided is purified, and the kitchens are world-class. If you have specific dietary needs, just let me know on the registration form—I’ll be briefing the chefs personally before we arrive.

Key Water Safety Tips for Kenya:

    • Bottled Water: It’s advised to only consume bottle water or reputable purified water, which is readily available.

    • Boiling/Filtering: If you must use tap water, bring it to a rolling boil for at least one to three minutes to kill pathogens. Portable filters or UV purifiers (SteriPen) are also effective.

    • Ice and Produce: Avoid ice in drinks and raw fruits/vegetables that may have been washed in tap water.

    • Brushing Teeth: It is highly recommended to use bottled or filtered water for brushing teeth, especially in cities where pipe contamination is common.

Vaccination requirements: Kenya requires passengers to have a yellow fever shot card.
If coming from Barbados: You can get this at Sir Winston Scott Polyclinic.

Local emergency contacts: The primary, toll-free emergency number in Kenya, which can be dialed from any mobile phone, is 999. For faster response or if 999 is busy, you can also dial 112 (international standard) or 911. These numbers work for police, fire, and medical emergencies.

Physical requirements: Ensure you fill and pack any necessary medications in your carry-on luggage or handbag.

  • Included safari activities typically feature twice-daily game drives within the Masai Mara National Reserve and the surrounding concession. Additional experiences, such as hot air balloon safaris and Maasai village visits, are a part of this package at no additional cost.

These are based on if weather permits.
